I drive Fair Oaks Boulevard near Watt Avenue almost every day, and I understand the need to keep (out of control) vehicles from crashing into the trees in the median. What I don't understand is how putting ramps at the end of the safety guardrails is going to be safer. I'd rather crash straight into a tree and take my chances with my vehicle's airbag, than be launched sideways or even inverted through the air into a tree or the path of oncoming vehicles. Giant crash absorbing sand-filled plant pots lining the median might have been a more aesthetic and better way to deal with the crash problems on this stretch of dangerous roadway.

The article on Jesuit High School was nicely done. One correction for you though, the picture of Chris McMurray and Chris Lorenc was actually taken in Dec. 1968 at the Metro Christmas Tournament and not at the 1969 TOC. McMurray and Sac High were not in the TOC that year, as their league champion was Hiram Johnson. (Jesuit played and beat Hiram Johnson in the game) Sac High played Jesuit in the finals of the Metro Christmas Tournament that same season, which is when the picture was taken.
Having been the Head Coach at Jesuit that year, I guess I should know. :o)
